take the starter to auto zone and have them test it..it is free and there machine can tell you want is wrong with it...
to be honest that dont sound a whole lot like a starter issue. more of a wiring issue. check your wire connections you may have a short some wheres.. on second thought remove the bolts and see if they are rusty. yammer moters only have one wire to the starter they are grounded thru the moter by the starter bolts.. zooker

did you check ground wires? It sounds like you have a bad new battery have you tried to jump it?

I jumped it straight from the battery and it still did it. So im guessing its the starter. This is even with a brand new battery.

Well guys thanks for the help but its not the battery. The two screws that goes into the starter were to tight causing binding. Now she starts at the slightest bump. Those two screws were going to cost me 395.00 lol.Thats the price for a starter .Im glad i kept at it and never gave up.

Skeeterman,
Sorry I didnt see this earlier but lemme give ya a piece of advise and for that matter everyone that is reading. On CCA of the battery you always need to go as big as the place the battery is going and as the wallet will alow. The main engine is the only thing sometimes between hauling butt in and making the weigh in or beating bad weather or whatever. Also alot of people dont realize that on todays engines say starting at 1990 till present are voltage sensitive. 90% of the engines made today have power packs and/or ECU's and low voltage is just as detrimental as high voltage. You stand the rish of blowing an expensive ECU or a power pack if the voltage is right when firing her up. Just a headsup so folks know this when buying battery's.

big battery
Hey laser, just in the past week me and the bassinbandit installed lowrance 520c unit on our boat. When we start the big engine the 520c would turn off, went from a 625 ca to a 1025 ca and cleared up our problem, Just to small of a battery.

Thats exactly what happened. When you went to crank the battery for a split moment lost enough juice that the unit didnt have enough voltage to run. A PRIME example of what I was explaining in the earlier post.
