Default Buying A Used Boat

If you were looking to buy a used boat in the $3,000.00 range, would like it to have a working sonar on it so you could go fishing on the way home from picking it up or would you rather install the sonar of your choice on it?

I wouldn't buy any boat based on whether or not it has a working sonar. That might be a bonus, but the boat is the critical issue with the motor. Steering and trolling motor are the next items of concern. I don't need a sonar to go fishing or to catch fish, but I do need a operational boat.

Everything else is in good working order. It's just that I took out the Lowrance I had in it to put in my newer boat. I'm just wondering if it'd be to my advantage as a selling point, to put another sonar in the boat. I can get a brand new Eagle FishEasy 245DS for 80 bucks.

A lot of people dont want to have to add anything aftermarket when they purchase a boat. They usually only have the money for the boat and not anohter 100$ to turn around and get a depth finder. You'll prolly be better able to sell it with a decent depth finder on the boat but I wouldn't break the bank.
