Default Rebirth Of An Old Boat

Well the boat is officially ripped down to the aluminum. Carpets gone, decking is gone (rotten as hell), wiring is all unhooked and labeled, side console disconnected. Giving my 20 year old boat a facelift. First- re running the wiring for TM, front depth flasher, hydraulic tilt, lights and maybe even a new radio. 2nd- installing new decking- front fishing deck is being extended by 3 1/2 feet, back deck staying the same just adding new access hatch. 3rd-new livewell- just ordered 37" long, 17.5" wide, 10" deep. Old livewell is still in place- gonna insulate it and have permanent cooler. Haven't decided if carpet is going back on. Lately the floor has been covered in foam. The interlocking squares are actually easy to work with and give me some nice padding. Due to the new livewell, the TM batteries are being moved to opposite side- hopefully counterbalance the new weight distribution. Also w/ this more weight will be located in the center of boat, except for the engine obviously. Will attempt some pictures as I get going.

Some more progress. Bought new carpet, waterproofed the wood. Cut my rear hatch, ordered the hatches for my cooler and livewell. Hopefully saturday will be installing the finished product. That means Tues. I should be fishing. All said and done, $500.00 give or take.

Hey FireFly how ya doing bud. What did the carpet cost ya? Did ya get a good deal onit??? Seems like alot of folks down here are wanting me to recarpet there boats and I aint being able to find quality at lower cost. I would make more money ifn I could find a good supplier with lower cost.

Went to home depot, 2.45LF. 3 year wear warranty. Told them it was going in a boat, they said it didn't matter. Limited colors- grey, blue, beige. The astro turf was .15 cheaper but seemed very flimsy. The stuff I bought is thicker and dense, vacuums easily. Unfortunately not done yet, hoping to finish her up on Tuesday now.

Just took a handful of pics with everything ripped apart. Gonna throw them on soon. Hoping to finish on Sunday.
