Jus' funnin'. I've been surrounded by "undocumented immigrants" for so long that I'M startin to talk like 'em. Based on that, I shoulda said Jeeg y Peeg, How far are you from Clarksville and Nashville? I lived in Clarksville as a small kid (Army brat) and would love to go back one day. It's been over 55 years since we buried my baby brother there and I feel a need to visit his grave and see my old neighborhood, Hickory Heights, and my old elementary school, Greenwood. I don't have a strongpoint. Just tryin' to improve every day and build a stronger knowledge base. In that regard, I appreciate everyone's help on this site.
As a side note, a couple years ago, I started keeping a fishing journal. In reviewing the entries, I noted that each year, I seem to favor a particular presentation. Last year it was tubes. The year before, flukes. This year, crankbaits. |

Here lately Im sorry in all points, spent a week on McGee creek in Ok and not one fish in the boat. Had a nice one wrap around a limb about 3 feet down and wife would not let me go in after it. I mean not one and I throwed every thing at them. Had a good time tho cleanning the crappie the wife caught off the back of boat.

I'd say I'm best at catching fish. Although I do need to improve at catching fish.

Flyrod, I live on Norris lake which is about 200 miles due east of Clarksville. Clarksville is north of Nashville and I am due north of Knoxville. Fish2win

Pretty well rounded in what I use on a regular basis. I figured out a long time ago, you learn something new everyday. Im still needing to work on jigs and my patience w/ dead sticking or really sloooooooow presentations. My biggest problem is finding the fish, especially open water. Im fine if there's structure or cover or anything I can see that should hold fish. My primary rigs are spinnerbaits, plastics, ratltraps, top water.

By far my strongest point would be soft plastics. I can catch atleast one fish on a Tiki at any time of the year and in almost any situation with one. But im not so good with crankbaits and topwaters, i could surely use some work on those.

Strongest is top water flies and just about any thing topwater.
Weakest is drop shot fishing. I suck at it. I would rather fish a 1 oz PNJ than that style.. I really like to feel the bottom...and drop shot is too mushy for me... I think I impart too much action to it too. Capt Mike

My fishing partner is my 12 year old son. He's a natural born killer. He loves spinnerbaits and jerkbaits, he hates plastics...too slow for him. What does a 12 year old know about patience? Me, I'll take topwaterwhen available. Nothing better than a topwater crash! Whether throwing a hulapopper or a bass bug with a fly rod, I'll take the top. But when they're not up top, I'll choose plastics, texas rig senkos or brush hogs. Weakness: drop shot( I just don't do it) and flippin. Still learning how.

Just surfed in thought I would throw in my thoughts.
Strong points: Jigs, Buzz Baits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics. Weak Points: crankbaits, Carolina rig, drop shot. I only fish about 8 tournaments a year and do quit well with just the jig, spinnerbait and buzz bait but would like to put some more tools in the tool box. |
