WWII Japanese Items (pics)
My Grandma found these the other day. They were brought back from WWII by my great grandpa along with a Japanese rifle and bayonet, and another sword, which resembles a Katana.
Anyways, my grandma says their live, but I didn't test em! So here's the pictures: I thought these were really cool. If anyone is a history buff and knows anything about them, I'd definitely be interested

After looking around online, I don't think they're real. I believe these are made from two separate pieces from old artillery shells with fins added on to make them look like mortars. Either way, they're cool pieces.

anthony......IF they are real, and live. i wouldn't be handling them too much. do some research some more on them, take them to the proper people for testing. these things can go off by them selves after waiting over 60 years. i am sure there is someone who can make sure if they are live or not. they are cool though.
better to be safe than sorry man.

My dad brought home a Jap rifle when he fought in WWII. Boy is that a large heavy rifle. Not sure how those little jap soldures carried it around all day. It also had the bayonette attached too.

I woudl be more interested in hearing about the sword. These swords were often made from confiscated Katanas. Family heirlooms that were centuries old were declared illegal to own by civilians and rounded up. Katans worth fortunes were simply cut to length and refitted with the military handle to meet uniform codes. There is bno telling how much history was destroyed like this.

Exactly what I was thinking. We came across a few of those back when I was selling guns.
