Well kids, I have Oldfartitis and 1 hour or so is about as far as I'd wanna drive to a lake unless it's something really special or a stay over. I get out there on the lake in that 'bad fresh air' (hehe) and I just get tuckered out, making the drive home extry long.
(When I was 21 I drove around the clock (24hrs) from NY to Florida and then went swimmin in the ocean....but that was a past life!)

I have that same disease. I normally go 2 hours max one way, and even then I sleep on my boat and start bright and early the next day and fish till 5ishpm. (I just lay my sleepingbag on the deck around midnight, and sleep till right before dawn. The only thing I dislike is all the dew, but other then that, it's the only way to go for me!!) I always take water, and food in a large cooler, with frozen quart size milk jugs to make the ice last longer, plus it helps my wife gets those freezer shipping packs from work. Those suckers are GREAT!! |
