Default Over and Under or Side by Side the best?

Many people are using Double Barrels these days. What are your thoughts on them and differences between the two?

Always preferred the o/u for the sight picture, but I was given an old Ithaca side by side 20, and really love it for upland, especially for dove. It's really, as most things are in life, personal preference. Only thing I use my citori for is shooting clays.

I prefer an O/U because I like the line of site better over a single barrel. Other than that though, I doubt there is much difference.

Besides what has already been said about the over/under, it just looks bad-azz!

On their 20th anniversary, the wife wakes up early in the morning and notices her husband isn't in the bed with her. She gets up and looks around, checks in the bathroom, can't find him. She puts on her robe and goes downstairs. There he is, sitting in his favorite chair with a cup of coffee, blankly staring off into space. She can tell he's really in deep thought about something. She walks over to him and gently touches his arm. "Honey, are you ok?"
He doesn't look at her, just keeps staring into space. But he says, as a tear rolls down his cheek, "You remember 20 years ago....."
Then she understands. She sits on the floor at his feet and tears up also, realizing now how deeply their anniversary has affected him. "Of course, I do, honey. Are you ok?"
He still doesn't look at her, still has the thousand yard stare into nothingness on his face. "You remember 20 years ago, when your dad caught us making love in the backseat of my car?"
She smiles a little at the memory. "I sure do."
He says, "You remember him shoving that shotgun in my face, and saying 'You either marry my daughter, or I'll put you in jail for 20 years?'"
She smiles a little more. "I do...."
Another tear trickles down his cheek unnoticed. He sighs deeply, shakily, then says, "I would've gotten out today......."

Now I'm no expert, but I would think that a side by side is a better scatter gun fer bird shot and rock salt , while an over under gives better accuracy of the aim for deer hunting and such. Having said that, it's hard to beat a single barrel pump action like a Mossberg and Ithaca Deerslayer.

Btw as the story was told, I thought I heard banjo music too!
Yep....gots to be careful up in them thar hills as folks don't take kindly to strangers. Lookin like a revenew man would be a real dangerous thing.
