Default Trailer repair

Last Sunday my wheel fell off at 60 mph and I learned a little in the process. People are good by nature. Business owner offered to store my rig on his lot. Called me on Monday and said the parts will be in Tuesday. Called me Tue and said it was fixed. Charged me 30 bucks. I gave him 60 and a fishing trip..

4th of July at dawn I replaced 15 lugs repacked bearings and used anti-seaze on lugs. All better now.. But it will be a while before I trust it again.

I replaced studs with case hardened studs.. The factory ones seared right off. The ones I replaced showed bi-metal corrosion under the lugs. Trailer is 14 months old.

What kind of trailer? Is this common or have you or anyone else ever heard of this hppening before? I guess i should check my wheels and lugs.
