Default Caught my first LargeMouth

Hey Guys...

I posted a thread not too long ago titled "tips for the beginner." After receiving many tips and advice from a lot of people, I went fishing yesterday, and caught my first largemouth bass, ever !!! It was only 2 lb 4 oz... But it was my first, so I was pretty excited... =) I only got one, but it was better than nothing...Anyhow, just wanted to let you all know... Hopefully I will catch a bigger one next time...

You definitely will catch more and bigger, cuz you have more confidence than ever now!

Any way, what did you use to catch your first LM?

Thanks Guys !!! I'm sure I will catch more and bigger...!!

H20, I used a T-rig with a keeper custom worm, 5'' and chartreuse color... For some reason, it was very difficult for me to feel the bite... Not sure why...

But you still detected the bite and set your hook! That's great! You might try some more sensitive line. Again, if you think you can locate bass, try weightless wacky tiki worm or Senko. That will bring you more bass nearly 100%.

Thats great. Your on your way to learning and becoming more efficient at fishing. Soon you will learn to catch fish easier than when you started and then there will come a time when you will be disapointed when you fail to catch one every time out. P N J

Congrats on your new money gobbling hobby LOL. I am happy to hear new folks catching their first bass. I was fortunate to have a father who took me fishing early on in life, so I honestly can't remember my first bass ever, but I do have some fond memories of some nice ones I caught. Keep fishing, and learning, and you will then catch fish more often then not.

Thanx for the support everyone.. Even though Im not so great at it, Im beginning to really like the sport... It was a great moment catching that first one, and I cant wait to catch more... Hopefully, I will be able to know what lures and bait to use depending on certain conditions. Thanx again !!!

Me too, Lizards. I lost my dad 3 years ago Oct. 22nd, and the only regret I have is I didn't get my boat until after he passed and I never got to take him out in it.

Sorry to hear that Reb... My dad too is an experienced fisherman, but beleive it or not, he doesnt really know how to catch largemouth and small mouth bass... So im kinda hoping that I can be pretty consistent and be able to take him out to the lake one day and show him the same fun we all have....

Now that the bass bug has bit you, you'll always want to experince the same rush. Half the pleasure of bass fishin for me is learning and researching how do do it better. Select a few baits you want to specialize in and when times are tough, you can always pull out one of your confidence baits and see if you can't turn things around. Try and learn one new thing every time you go out, and when you catch one, try and remember what you did to entice the bass to bite and duplicate it on your next cast. Nice fish and good luck.
