Default Good tip!Icey Hot!

For cold weather I heard to keep ice from getting in your guides spray them with either line and lure conditioner or wd- 40 anyone got any other tips for keeping the ice out of your guides

try vegetable oil like Pam or wd 40
but after you've been out all day your eyelets freeze up any way, all ya have to do is knock them off the eyelet and then off your line.
Many a walleye angler up here has to put up with that, but Yes the WD40 helps some

Dip your rod blank in the lake until all of the guides are submerged for a few seconds and it will thaw the ice off.Until you start retrieving your line again.P N J

Spray the rod and eyelets with some kind of sun or uv repellent. Sounds odd, but it works. You can also soat your reel spool in the blue wind shield solvent/ anti icer over night. Works for mono, not sure if it's works for braid.
