Default Centipede for bait

If you fish them right, these are the beat bass bait since time began. They say the centipede has a thousand legs. I don't know for sure, but I do know they have a bunch. The proper way to fish these, is to use them on bottom. But you must have gloves, they will bite..You hook him on the first ring down from his head on back. Do not use weight, he will stay on bottom....The next step will seem cruel, but he is going to die anyway. You must break one of those legs.. Now imagine this little pede limping around on 999 legs, and draging the one that is broken, Now you got the picture. You can almost bet the bass is seeing the same thing and saying " I know what's for dinner today".

arkie makes a good rubber centipede, when the bass bite is slow, I'll tear a small portion off about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long with an aberdeen hook and catch bluegill.

A centepede has 2 legs per body section, but never have they reached long enough in length to have 100 legs. They are carnivores, eating cockroaches and other little annoying pests.I believe a Millipede releases a small amount of poison with a real stinky smell when threatened. P N J

Those lizards are interesting. I tried those centipedes before with a little success but didn't like them enough.

I like to skip under docks with them, rigged with a snapswivel to the hook for weight and to allow it to roll as it skips over the water surface.I also fish it weightless on the inside & outside edge of weeds, but I don't use a swivel then. P N J
