Default Fireline vs. Microfuse

Which do you prefer. I plan on using it for dropshot on a Shimano Crucial Dropshot 7'2" M rod that I'm buying as soon as I get paid for mowing grass and stuff. It will be my main line with a fluorocarbon leader. I'd be u sing the Fireline Crystal in 14lb or Microfuse in 12lb with either 10lb or 8lb leader. Just too many choices nowdays, cause there's always braid I could use as well.

Thanks,

BB

The Microfuse is used in coordination with a black light, for night fishing. Why not just use Power Pro?

Microfuce also floresces in daylight.

If you plan to Drop-Shot just Hudson, go with braid, it don't matter in that mud slough. I still don't see a need for fluorescent line though.

Buzzie, dropshoting isn't gonna do ya much good in Mudson. I'm mainly gonna use it on the reservoirs west of toledo and for smallies in St Clair and Erie is we ever get a nice enough day to go out.

I was originally planning to put straight 8lb Fluoroclear on my DS rod, but after reading an article the other day that was talking about using 10-14lb mainline then 8-10lb fluoro leader. I did want something a bit more sensitive than the Fluoroclear too.

Be careful on Erie man. If you're only running a 15 HP, you'd better be aware that them storms blow in fast! My buddy and I get after it out there sometimes and he never goes farther thans three-five miles and he has a 50 horse.

guys, one more quick question. How is the sensitivity of these (fireline and microfuse) compared to that of braid?

Thanks again,

BB

I used Fireline Crystal last year and I liked it, but it did wear out.
On one dropshot rod I have straight Fluoro and on another I have braid with a Fluoro leader. Each one has advantages I guess, not sure which I like better.
I think that it is something you need to figure out which way you like it best.
