Weekly LakeFork Fishing Report
Well, the weather has been like a roller coaster. Cold and dropping the water temp and scattering the fish. Ever time the fish make a move to the shallow water the temp drops three to five degrees and locks up the bite. Hopefully they will start spawning again soon. The water temp has been about 60 to 63 degrees. The recent rains muddied up some creeks in the back but the 25 to 30 MPH wind has hurt us more than anything. The warm weather will be a plus for the coming weeks. Start out around the timber with a jig in 5 to 7 foot of water and then move up as the days warm. Pitching the trees and stumps has been a plus on better size fish.
The crappie had invaded the shallow water along the bass but they moved back out. The eggs are red and ready on the fish I have caught and cleaned. I still have a few April dates open if you want to come to Fork. Jim Reaneau 1-888-918-5088 |
