Man, the flu SUCKS!

Finally feeling human again. Monday I wouldn't have cared if I died or not. Got a flu shot, too. The Doc told me the flu shot kept me from getting it WORSE

!?!?!? Not fun, believe me. Went from a 100 temp on Sunday, up to 102 all day Monday and 99 on Tuesday. No fever today, thank goodness. If you get it, you have my sympathies.

glad your feeling better reb....but think about this....if you take a flu shot this year your taking a vaccine that was designed for last years flu strain....hummmmm......does this make any sense????.....

Keep in mind guys, this is coming from a Charge Nurse, (they don't use the term Head Nurse anymore), and she knows what she is talking about. She's on top of all this stuff and more.......

i havent had a flu shot in years, last time i had it was 3 yrs ago, i dont get sick very often.

thanks bet....now my secret is all out in the open .....

....taking the flu shot doesn't prevent you from getting the flu.....it is supposed to minimize the effects that the flu can have on the immune system.....the only bad thing is by taking last years strain vaccine...it opens the door for a super bug to develop the next year....and the vaccine will become obsolete in your system and it will remember the next time your body is attacked with that older strain and wont allow the vaccine to fight it any longer....so my advice to all is to make sure you take vitamin c 1000mg's daily, and vitamin e 1000 units daily this will boost the immune system and the flu will pass you by.....it only attacks vulnerable systems you see...

I can't remember the last time I got a flu shot much less the flu!

ahh I got it last sunday night and its just starting to go away now. It SUCKS because the dang flu made me miss the Bassmaster Amistad event

had 102 fever mon-thur. and no it isnt nice!

Wow, I just went through it too. Do you remember the 3 day President's Day weekend? I had a hot date with my wife that weekend and was planning to go fishing and celebrate my birthday when both my kids got hit by the flu. They wound up giving it to me as a lovely birthday present. I am one who hardly ever gets sick and this flu bug hammered with scooby shaking chills and a 104 F fever at the same time. If it weren't for my wife who made me take my temperature, I might have gotten into worse shape. Advil and tylenol had little effect. Nasty cough, sore muscles and I was out for the count for 4 days. Not a way to celebrate a 3-day weekend.
Glad to see you broke the fever too.
