It was bound to happen
After 20+ years of fishing, I finally got hooked. I was removing the rear treble when the fish jerked free and the front treble got me. The barb was sunk in good. I cut the hook free from the others. Then, I tried cutting it out, but that was torterous. I tried pulling it back out but quickly realized that wasn't a good idea. I decided to push it through but was too much of a wimp, so I asked my buddy to push it through. Surprisingly, it wasn't all that painful. The lesson I learned is make sure you have someone around who is willing to shove a hook through your finger.

Ouch! Been impaled a time or two myself. Most of the time the string jerk method of hook removal will work:

Thanks for showing that string jerk thing. I hope I never, ever have to use it. I'm sure it works, I'm just not sure I would do it right the first time.

That method works really good. Believe me I have had to use it a few times, 6 to be exact!!! But it worked each time.

Speaking of pictures, I regret not taking a picture of the hook in my finger especially when my buddy pushed it through. It would have been a good conversation piece.
