Default Has anyone used the temple fork rods?

I know them for fly rods, but am looking at their spinning rods
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Templ...age-TFGLS.html

I was looking through TackleWarehouse (never a good thing) and came across these. I was looking for reviews and th eonly thing I could really find was a quick blurb in filed and stream
http://www.fieldandstream.com/articl...-spinning-rods

With the 15% 4th of july sale, it puts it in the $85 range.

I actually played with a TFO rod yesterday..The casting not the spinning...The one thing that caught me off guard was it felt pretty heavy...Now because of the color coded power rating that they do have,I could have grab a HVY rod...I really didnt think to look or ask.
Everything else seemed great for the price..Construction seemed nice and clean.
They have SIC inserts if I remember right......I think it would make a good rod for the money.

Thanks Waffle,
In my search for reviews, "A little heavy" was the common theme on the casting rods.

Personally, I wouldn't get one. I think there's just too many other good options out there in this price range.

And if you don't know already, the only thing Gary Loomis has to do with these rods is he advised TFO when they designed them. They are not his blanks (North Fork Composites), they are manufactured in Korea I believe.

The blanks made in Korea are just as good as the blanks made here...By Koreans

I was reading about them a little while ago, the casting models seem to tip heavy, and unbalanced. I don't really remember anyone talking about the sensitivity. But the cork is good, and the guides too! May be worth a shot!

Lol. Jokes aside, I wasn't saying they're bad, just pointing out the fact that they are made there. One thing I read about them said someone at TFO told this guy they were manufactured and assembled in TX, which isn't the case.

But you're right about the Korean blanks. One of my new favorite rods are manufactured in Korea.
