Default Am I the only one that wishes Versus Channel was back on Directtv

I always look forward to the first of the year for a lot of reasons and one of them is the new fishing shows start. However, this year my supply of fishing shows is greatly reduced due to directtv dropping versus. If you contact directtv they say it is the fault of versus and if you contact versus they say it is the fault of directtv. I don't care whose fault it is! I just want the channel back. I have thought about changing to dish network but that seems like a lot of hassle to get one station. I am done venting now.

While it is not nearly as good as having the chanel, You can see quite a few of their shows from their website.

I think the dispute is over money - versus wants DTV to pay twice as much as TW cable and DTV says no way.
I miss it too - there are several decent fishing shows on the outdoor channel, but they seem to be on at the nearly the worst possible times (DVR rules) and repeat very often.

It would be a hassle to switch, but you'll get new customer deals by switching.

I am afraid that they will do the same thing to dish when the contract that dish has with them runs out. I will probably stick with direct and watch video clips on the versus website.

No you are not the only one that wishes Versus was back on DirecTV.

If you try to tune in to versus it says that Versus is owned by Comcast and DirecTV wouldn't pay for the so called outrageous amounts Comcast was charging other TV providers.

As far as the outdoor channel goes, I'm pretty sure I've seen just about every show there is to see on it. The only new shows are hunting shows it seems.

I wonder if this is due to the fact that big cable wasn't able to get a bill passed, that would force a tax on satellite subscribers.

More than likely that is the case. We would have Comcast but it's not available where I live, so we have to have DirecTV or Dish for TV and we have to have Hughes (formally DirecWay) to have high speed internet.

I know exactly where you're coming from! Charter stops 1/2 mile away and has refused to hook me up for the last 8-10 years.
I've got Directv and Hughesnet

Comcast is only 1/4 of a mile from me, we've even gotten a petition together from everyone in the neighborhood and they still won't come out. It makes me mad just thinking about it.

That sucks. I requested a Charter tech come out and check with all the houses in between cable and my place but they probably didn't even come out.
I know for a fact that the house 1/10th of a mile further away than my place wants it as well. Since they run it 1/10th of a mile for free, running it to my place would add that house as well.
1st time I was turned down, they said it'd cost 5k to run it to me. Several years later, they changed it to 15K.
I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never get it

Switch to dish network, dish and direct are owned by the same company anyway. you can get versus for a price on dish. I don't have it, but it is available.

i Have both direct tv and comcast. Got to say comcast has stepped up there game I would get rid of the direct tv. But i dont know what i would do not being able to see my beloved Raiders lose every weekend. Direct tv sucks that it doesnt give you local sports That why i have to have the comcast box because i love the Flyers. As far as outdoor channels go i cant believe how much they both suck. At least on Verizon you get the WFN in HD all this crap channels sportsman channels not even in HD.

I watch very little TV but my DVR is mostly set on Vers. I have local cable Cox. I tried Direct TV once just for the NFL package but did not care for it.

Watching Stacy King explain cold water jerkbait fishing on "Bass Pro's" right now.

I have Time Warner so I've always had Versus but I'm glad some of you guys have it again now.

I wish I had at least one channel that showed fishing shows. We have VERY basic cable so only have like 25 channels. Every Sunday morning at 10AM there is a local weather guy that does a local fishing show but 75% of the time it is saltwater, not freshwater.

Bamma they are not owned by the same company :-P. Echostar communications owns Dish and direct is owned by The direct TV group, which is controlled by Liberty media. I can only stand to work for one group of ***h****. Switching to Dish can be very easy. While the company needs some work the service is very good. You would also get the World Fishing Network where you could watch Fish PAA and Classic Patterns or best yet you can see:.....nuff said
