Default Another top water question

Ok guys I have another top water question for you. Is it better to fish top water with a spinner or a bait caster? This year is ther first time Im really going to bee messing aroung with top water. I try to learn how to use something new every season so any help would be nice.
Thanks guys

Either will work, but for most of my topwater I prefer casting equipment. I feel I have more control of the cast for precise presentation of the lure when I'm trying to place it precisely next to a piece of cover. For me, I don't feel I have that control with spinning tackle. In more open water that wouldn't really be an issue. About the only time I will go with spinning tackle is if I'm working a very small light topwater. But thats rarely the case for me.

It's all personal preference. It can be fished on either.

Personally, I like casting gear because picking up a lot of slack with a spinning reel can cause line tangle problems. And you do a lot of picking up slack when topwater fishing, especially poppers and walk-the-dog style baits.
