Diggin' Deep!
This time I'm looking for the medium/deep crankbaits. I have been looking at many of the Deep and Medium Crankbait pages on www.tacklewarehouse.com. I really like the Norman DD22's, the Bomber Fat Free Shad Series 2/3's, the Norman Suspend DD22's, and the Rapala DT 10's and 16's. Do you Guys suggest any other brands? I don't really want anything heavier than 3/4 Ounce; just seems too heavy for me. I'm looking to spend about $60 tops on about seven Deep(13+), and four Medium(6-12)baits.
Any suggestions for me? -Lunk-

Thanks Zooker! What baits do you like the best; run the truest? I like the Lucky Crafts, but $13-16.99 is somewhat too high if I am looking for eleven baits under $60.
Are there any baits you would never buy again? -Lunk-

dont forget to consider dif sizes of rattle traps, they will sink to any depth, plus wont wear you out from the resistance. the only big cranks that I've never caught a thing on are the manns loudmouth. They tried to match the dd22 in size and added heavy rattles, but I've never done any good on them at all.
If i were you I'd get several rapala deep divers, bandits, and bomber and norman...I've fished these brands a long time and no problemo |

Don't forget about the new Bandit 700 Series. They look awesome, and since I'm a big Bandit fan, I think I might get me one. Also try the DT16's (or 10's)

that was posted prior to me getting 4 new 700. i found an old 600. they all have to be tuned more so then the average crank they have to run perfectly straight..as the deeper you go the more prononced the baits track becomes.. matsu are about the only baits i shy away from.. strike kings build a decent bait but the paint jobs suck. lucky craft are good -i am trying to get 12 d-20 this year-the paint also comes off with use.. i have several squid skin jobbys i am looking forward to beating them just to see if i like the idea.. the bigger bombers are a favorite, poes -well duh!- and dd22 are all good baits the dt 16 as discussed else where is probly the biggest pain..the d-20 weigh the same but do not stress you like the dt 16... zooker

I've found the DT's wear you out faster than any crankbaits of the same size, whether it me a DT04 and a Bandit 100, or even my DT Flat SS 07 is harder than some cranks that run even deeper.
I don't know what it is, but the DT's do seem to be harder to reel. Maybe I'm just crazy. (that would explain more than this ) BB

The deeper you go with a floater diver the more preassure there is. Gearing in the reel has alot to do with this feeling as well. What reel do you have what kind of gearing are you using.

At the moment, the slowest reel I have is 5.1:1. although it is buried in the garage so I was using my new Viento 6.3:1. I know it's fast for crankbaits, but I was just testing it out. I never though of that being why they seemed harder to reel though.
