Default Nice 17" Bass on a Spinnerbait!

Was fishing a local backwater of my home lake and hooked into a 17" Largemouth on a single-Colorado 3/8oz chartreuse & white spinnerbait. Too bad the next day I lost that spinnerbait to a fish that was around the same size. Any guestimations on the weight? I'd say around 2.5 but I don't know for sure.

Thats probably about right on the weight. Those spinnerbaits just flat out catch fish. Bet your going to be buying a couple more soon.

If you're 3'2" and weigh 50# I would say it is 10+. But under the circumstances I would say 2-3 too.

Last Sunday, I caught a 17 inch bass that weighed 2.55 lbs on my Rapala digital scale, so I would agree with Keith and Bama the you're right on with your guess of 2.5.

I'm pathetic at guessing weights, but still congrats on a great fish.

It looks pretty fat so I'm going to lean towards 3lbs.

I'll tell you what though. Next time hold it way in front of yourself up close to the camera. That bass will grow by 4 pounds!!!

IMHO, the length measurement without girth makes it hard to guess a weight from one body of water to the next. On the lake I fish all the time, a 17" LM is generally in the 3lb 0oz to 3lb 8oz range, but most of the bass on that lake tend to be fatties. That one you're holding sure looks chunky to me. I'd guess 3.0 for sure, if not even a tad more. I caught a 3lb 5oz and 3lb 2oz LM over the weekend and both of them were 16.75" long.
