Question Coldest Temp??

I am heading out this Saturday morning to do some striper fishing and plan on trying for some bucket mouths when finished. They are calling for 18 degrees that morning and this got me to wondering.

What is the coldest temp you have ever bass fished in and had marginal success?

Around 28 in a snowstorm. I was fishing small stock tank just west of Ft. Worth. Not sure what the water temp was, but the fish were hitting. Only problem was the water would freeze in the eyelets and I had to keep dunking the rod to clear the ice.

For a South Texas boy it was an unsual experience, to say the least.

if you use a line conditioner like blakemore's reel magic on your guides and line, they wont freeze up. the coldest i have fished in was 38,it was chilly!

Upper 30's for some april tournies at ky lake, but by late afternoon its 48 or so..but as far as ice fishing, the water temp is about 35 degrees and air temp on a good day is upper 20s, even sometimes a warm day of 30's type weather with good ice of 4-8 inches is a nice way to spend the day, walking around drillin' holes and watchin the tipits.
I've found up here any time its near mid 30's the eyelets on your rod will freeze up after an hour or to, ya just have to knock it off, or spray some stuff on it. Most fishing up here that cold is vertical jigging and using downsized jigs, 1/16th or 1/32nd jig.

Believe it or not, last winter, I caught a couple nice bass on a buzz bait of all things. The Air Temp was in the low 30's and the water temp was most likely in the upper forties.

-42 BELOW zero i was fishing a 72 hour ice tourny. it was so cold that the slime was freezing on the fish inside a heated shack.. i finished second with a 3.6 pound chain pickeral.had to stand by the fire for 4 hours to thaw my coveralls enough to remove them.

Where the heck does it get that cold? The coldest I ever remember was -26 in Ohio when I was working construction. Fishing it was maybe 10-15 degrees last year ice fishing, my first time. Last week I was in Quebec, just over 0 there but no fishing, only work .
