Smile New fisherman. Need help.......

I am catching a few fish on worms and lizards but they are small and when i take them off the hook alot of them have small baby crabs in their mouth. I have tried other baits but no luck . Do any of you have any suggestions? oh by the way its small blue crabs they are feeding on.
Thanks hookmhard

If you catching bass they are probably small crawfish, try a plastic that imitates a crawfish, like a zoom vibra craw, with a 1/4 or 3/16th weight, texas rigged.

The zoom vibra craw is an excellent bait for texas rigs, and I've noticed too, that the unique shape of the claws allows the bait to swim nicely too when you want to pick up the speed of the bait some. Try "swimmin" a vibra craw sometime, it works!

Would you know if the water is brackish by any chance?

JB, I have seen crabs of some variety and freshwater fish inhabit the same areas in tidal streams that empty into mobile bay, so they could really be feeding on crabs...maybe.

we us them sorta a lite-1/8oz- carolina rig style down on the coast for reds and specks..i have caught bass on them..

Gulp also makes some small crabs. Crawdad style of baits usually will work in these situations in my experience.
