Fake hand...haha.....

My avatar is a pic of a nice micrometer. It's a tool that measures things down to one ten-thousandth of an inch.

I think it pretty much personifies "devotion to the details."

I really wanted to use a picture of a slide rule, but I was afraid even less people would know what the heck it was.

I own a slide rule. I had an ex employer who called the micrometer a caliper. Yes I know how to use both the micrometer and the slde rule.

micro meter, caliper, same thing i know. and stick. i was thinking the EXACT same thing man. but ya "beat" me to it, hahahahahahahahaha.

So that's how you measure it? Because a ruler is just too dang long............... especially during COLD WEATHER.

The problem isn't one of size per se...it's one of clearance.

Wow , Im really suprissed at how many didnt know what that was. I use one at work to measure steel thickness. As well as a magnetic gauge to measure galvanized coating thickness...
