Default the weathermen get it wrong... again!

So, we were gonna go out and do some perch jerkin today (saturday), but all yesterday, the forecast was snow flurries over night, around 30 this morning with 20mph winds and clouds. So, we figured we'll stay home today and go out tomarrow (Sunday) since the forecast is low 50's, mostly sunny, and 10mph winds.

Woke up this morning to sunny, about 5-8mph winds with up to 12mph gusts, and already 39 degrees... Stupid meteorologists...

I've got a couple papers to write for my college classes. I have to write them one day this weekend, so I can only fish one day.

BB, what do you use to target perch? I have been getting them here and there but would really like to get a whole mess of them. Got a big one tonight on a trap but only one.

Everybody has said different stuff, but most of them have been coming on shiners. Some people say the flashier the presentation, the better. But we're going to take the less is more approach.

A 2ft leader with two dropper loops tied in. one, about 6" above the bottom (which has a snap swivel tied on for a sinker), and another about 6" above that one. Then, make a couple short 5" lengths of line with a loop on one end (I use the surgeons loop) and a Mustad Central Draught hook (the best live bait hook IMO) on the other end. Attach one of these to each of the dropper loops on the big leader. put a shiner on each hook.

Net Craft is the only place I've found that carried the central draught hooks.

The perch fishing has been hot for a couple weeks on the reservoir down in Findlay, OH. the game wardens are loving it. it's a 9.9 hp limit. They are watching from shore with binoculars and fining you for one fish over the 40 fish limit. people have even gotten in trouble for fishing after they caught their personal limit, which makes no sense to me. if there's two guys in a boat, why does it matter if one catches 20 fish and the other catches 60? it's still a limit of 40 each...
