Default Know where you're at...

and what you're surroundings are. On Tuesday I had to run out to youth sports and get my son signed up for basketball. Right across the road is one of the lakes we have on base.

Actually it's a water reservoir and every 3 years the EPA requires them drain to a certain percentage of the water. The fishing sucks out there and I knew that, but I thought, "ah, what the heck I'm there might as well give it a go!". The water is probably down 12-15 feet, none of the docks are in water, the boat ramp is probably 6-10 foot from any water and all the lilies are dead. The toolies are barely hanging on.

So I go out to the backside of the lake and make my way down the bank and start walking down to the waters edge. As I'm making my way towards the water to ground looks like dry, but it was still a little soft. So I told myself, "I'll keep pushing out to the water, footing seems pretty solid." No sooner did that thought cross my mind, the next step I was literally knee deep in mud. Fortunately it was only one leg and not both as I think I would have stuck. This was the type of mud that created a suction and I had to fight for my flip flops life. I thought it was goner. Here are a couple of pics, one of the ground I was walking on and one of my legs after I got it unstuck...LOL!

I think I may give Bill Dance a run for fishing bloopers
