first of all, the line guide is awesome! great explanations on when and what to use. my only question is: are these recommendations solely for the main line. would leader test, if and when used, vary? should the leader be of equal test and diameter?

I don't use a leader very much, and then it is only with braid. I match line diameter rather than pound test. 50 lb braid has the same diameter as 12 lb mono, so that is what I use.
