skirt bands
Alot of my tackle is getting pretty old and it seems like every time i grab a spinner/buzz/jig that has a band after a few casts the skirt goes bye bye if it doesnt in the tackle box. Anybody found and good solutions? I saw one spinnerbait company that use SS wire to hold their skirts on but i cant remember who it was. I have a hand full of naked jiggies. Unfortunately I only just started saving the skirts and putting them in a bag to try and reinstall. My 3 ledgebusters are naked also and i never saved the skirts

I dont think ive ever had them fall apart on me like that.. Try storing them in places where it does not get so hot.

I've had to replace the rubber band holder on my skirts 3 times over, I've had the same spinnerbaits for years, but always adding to them.
Rebs are def the best ones I own. |

I guess I dont keep them that long.. When they get old I either give them to friends or buy new ones.. Unless shes a lucky one then she gets special treatment.

Well i know this is a bit costly. But i just buy terminator spinnerbait skirts, They work well on jigs also. and last forever. although i'm sure others do this also.

I am with ya on this one JB. Good ole REB was nice enough to send me a few of his creations and so far they are 1 of the 2 baits that I have fished that will go toe to toe with a wareagle spinnerbait. REB's will OUTLAST a wareagle 2 to 1. The other bait that is a outsatanding lure is.........you guessd it............The Zookenstein. Still to this day I wouldnt have beleived it but that darn thing just FLAT OUT kept my arms sore last fall. Ifn I was keeping score I do beleive I caught more bass on the stein last fall than I did all year long on all the baits combined.

I don't use this technique, because I just buy new stuff rotflmao. But it was posted here awhile ago, that if you get the ties, from like bread or trash bags, and tear off the paper, and just use the wire to wrap the skirt on with, it will last a long time. I did try this and it seemed to work fine, I however lost the spinnerbait shortly after the mod, so didn't have a long time to experiment with it. I lose baits more than you can count because of where I fish, so I don't worry to much about it.

Haha sounds like Reb makes some mighty fine spinnerbaits!
I've never had a problem with the skirts of my lures, guess its just how you store them, or how much you use them. I do use a spinnerbait a good amount, but I dont catch a lot on them, atleast not enough to make the skirt life decrease.

Thanks for the kind words. I recently tried another skirt similar to the Terminators-the new Strike Kings. They are the same principal as the Terminators and have a couple of extra long strands that act as a trailer. They don't have all the colors I like to use, but so far they have stood up just fine.

What kind do you reccommend JB? I know Ka Ru Lures, (Older user), sold custom skirts. Have you ever used any of his?

Do you like the "living rubber" kind? What about "flash" bands?

I think most of us have had that problem with skirts falling off! (yeah, yeah, haha...you know what i mean!!) I keep a few bread ties in my boat and if i see a band that may break I twist it on tight. It works for a quick fix.

you can put baby powder on dry skirts to help keep them from sticking in severe heat. I've always favored these kind of skirts to replace almost all of my blades(excepts rebs ) lol
crick here great place to find hare jigs too |

I replace mine w/ strike king skirts. Still losing them pretty regulary. They just end up laying on my truck seat. I personally think Im catching so many fish they just get wore out. Well, sounds good for me.
