Default Trailer Weight

I have been a googling fool, but have not found any consistant answer.

I am trying to find an estimated weight for a boat trailer. It is a single axle trailer for a 17' aluminum boat.

Any estimates would be appreciated.

I would bet around 1,250 lbs.

Cass, what type of boat sits on it? I thought that you had a tracker but can't remember for sure. If that's the case I would guess around 700lbs for the trailer.

1250 pounds for a trailer nofear? I don't know really, but I think you are a little heavy pal.
These things are made of tubelar steel, which I "think" is lighter yet stronger than 1250 pounds. But hey, I truly don't know. So....

I don't know...could be lighter. But I know when Woodrow had a flat on his Skeeter trailer, we could not pick the back of it up. It just seems like if it only weighed 750, the back end would only weigh around 450 or so. I don't know...maybe I've just gotten weak in my old age. In a few years, I'll probably say it weighs 2,000 lbs.

hahaha, I hear ya man. I got an idea on how to weight it if you can find a place to let you do it.
IF you are close to the state line or know where a semi truck scale is.....tow it there, weigh it. Then un hook it and re-weigh. You should ne able to get the EXACT weight.

Skeeter trailer should be around 1000-1200. I would say that a 17 ft aluminum boat would normally sit on an 800 lb trailer.
