Default Line Twisting

I have a basic ultra-light spinning rod & reel. Both purchased at Gander Mt.

I have been experiencing line twisting... any time I give the line slack the line will twist itself up.

I've tried to just let the line unravel behind the boat. Id let all the line go out with nothing on the end... no swivel... then id reel it back up with tension on it.. then after a few casts the line would go back to being all twisted.

I've tried getting a new reel and tried changing the line numerous times...

My father seems to think it does it because its the way I cast.... I dont know about that...

Has anyone else experienced severe line twisting with their rod & reel?

To better explain if you tried fishing for carp on the bottom and went to put a bolber on your line.. When you would pull the line down and put the bolber on it would spin around and twist so that it would be impossible to reel it in if you had a hit.

I have no idea why this is happening...

Thanks
Chris
