Default 33 pound Snook my son caught when he was 15 years old. Here's a picture

Other than sharks and tarpon, this is the biggest fish of my son's life so far!
He was only 15 when he got this 33 pounder.
You could just about put your head in his mouth!
My son is 28 now. We went fishing together today and got 3 bass- I got 2!
Of course, this is a scan, of a 5x7 enlargement, of a 3x4" 35 mm photo from 13 years ago!
So, it may not come out too great????
HMMMM, I have tried to add the picture 3 times, but it does not show up in the preview?
??????????????????????

Default Our 3 bass today

all 3 were just about 2 1/2 - 3 lbs, but I love fishing with my son!
His name is Daniel and he's just a great guy to be with!

Nice bass, and great Tarpon. I believe I've actually hooked into one of those Tarpons a couple of times before, but never go it to the boat. I fish with my dad a lot, and he's my best fishing buddy period.

Default It is a snook

I think Lizardsrule got mixed up a little.
It's a 33lb snook.
We have caught much bigger tarpon. My biggest was right around 150 lbs
Strangely enough, I was trolling in brackish water [Myakka River] for trout [saltwater trout, actually not a trout at all, just looks like one]
I was using 12 lb test and a trout jig. It took over 3 hours to get it to the boat and my friend had to keep the motor running and follow it every time it made a crazy run.
I don't fish for tarpon much, because it's open water fishing and I prefer structure fishing. Both snook and of course bass are structure oriented.

I did get confused. Never seen a snook that big, but have seen tarpon that big. Either way anything 33lbs would be fun to catch.

my biggest 'poon was last year off the Port Aransas south jetty. 180 pounds on Penn 8500 SS. That sounds like a nice battle 5282!

Default Thank you as well as all the others who have welcomed me!

One thing I like about living in Florida- - Florida largemouths grow big and I can catch them every day of the year!!!
On the other hand, it's not much fun going fishing here in June, July and August [and part of Sept ] it's hot, muggy, buggy, allligatory and did I mention hot?
Like no breeze and suffocating.
But, the rest of the year balances that out.
I came here from upstate NY in 1988 and up there it was too cold Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and part of March!
AND, I couldn't fish for bass at all those months.
I ice fished, but { JUST MY OPINION } ICE FISHING SUCKS!
Freeze your butt off all day for 5 little perch!
Oh well, i'm getting tired and talkin' weird. Best head to bed now. SEEYA!

Well, I have a way of confusing people when I talk.
I think I structure my sentences like a dumbass [not a dumb bass ]

Default 180!!!

180! That's a bigun for real!
I have only gotten in one really big tarpon and that was the 150 pounder I mentioned.
I have had some bigger ones jump, shake and leave the scene unhooked though!
In fact, i've had most of the tarpon i've hooked up with, either shake off or break off.

Yeah....I've heard poons have like a 10 to 1 hook to landing rate...I've jumped one, didn't even get a hook in him, hopefully this year I'll get one.
