Default Need help

Hey all,
I just bought a 1971 Ranger 14'er from a guy I know and it came with a 50 HP Evinrude. The problem is is that it continuously fires but it never starts. Does anyone know whats wrong and how much it will cost to fix?

Thats a good one ... and make sure the switch is in the full run position (remembering the time a slight tug on the lanyard was enough to trip the switch but the lanyard didn't quite come off).
Also, are you pumping the primer bulb, advancing the throttle slightly and choking it?
