4 Febuary 06 - Fayette County Reservoir
My partner and I went to Fayette Saturday, got a late start, launched at 9am. We fished some trees and shorelines in about 5 - 7 feet of water along the west bank with no luck. Conditions where cold and fairly windy. (approx. 15 mph winds) Water temp averaged 63. We switched to the east shore and caught two nice bass in about 3 feet of water with a baby minus one.(Ok, my partner, caught the two nice bass). It was a slow day for myself actually not catching a thing until close to sunset. My partner hooked up two other nice bass about 4pm near the power plant's warm water return channel. I was thinking how nice it would be to be somewhere else by this time....smiles. Close to sunset we motored over to the boat ramp closest to the west shore ( I forget the exact name of the entrance...something like Jurassic Park) anywho...i did finally catch five nice bass on soft plastics over there, and my partner one more nice bass. We ended our trip around 8pm with 5 a piece. Her big bass weighed maybe 4-10, mine about 4 even. Her five fish total was about 11lbs, my total was less than that.. I got beat by my partner again, and she's learning from me ?

at least you're catching bass...it's tough when the water is 38-40 degrees.

Have you been Reb? I have been wanting to go. If you go let me know and maybe we can drag a couple of boats over there.

oh let me say this about fayetteville.....the water is always warm there due to the fact that it's a power plant reservoir...the water was 64 degrees this past saturday....so no worries about cold water fishing there....ever.....

Well there is the mid summer blues, when the water temp can climb into the low 90's. Time to go deep!
