Default Another cool school project!

In geography we have a projected called the "great American road trip". We can go anywhere, do anything, and we have unlimited money. We gotta start and end in Green Bay Wisconsin. And knowing me I'm doing a fishing trip across the country. I think I'll bring a kayak with me and fish from there whenever I can, and rent a bass boat where I can't use tha yak. I plan on heading down to Florida, heading back up going into Texas heading north and going back to WI.

So what lakes and rivers should I fish along the way? I wanna do a little salt water too, might fish around Cocoa in Florida and over in the Louisiana Delta for reds.

So what'll it be?

Thanks.

From WI, I'd go across the UP and down through Michigan to hit St.Claire and some of the best smallmouth fishing in the country. From there you can head straight down to Florida or maybe out east.

Man, sounds like a great trip to me... go anywhere, do anything, and have unlimited funds... wouldn't it be nice..

My top lakes to hit would be:

Erie
St. Clair
Kentucky Lake
Guntersville
Pickwick
Okeechobee
Toledo Bend
Amistad
Falcon
Bull Shoals
Table Rock

If your funds are truly unlimited, why not *buy* a boat at each location and donate it to a worthy cause (like a Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization or something like that) when you leave for the next location. Seems like that might be a nice touch since you're indepenently wealthy. (Or you could buy one boat and drag it with you everywhere).

Don't you *have* to swing through and fish at least one lake in the "land of 10,000 lakes"?

I have never fished Lake Minnetonka, but I hear about good fish being caught there often. Here's just a couple blurbs from the link:

"Muskellunge...population remains strong. Fish exceeding 50 inches and approaching 40 pounds are caught in Lake Minnetonka every year.

The largemouth bass fishery in Lake Minnetonka has a reputation for quality fishing. Numerous bass tournaments are held on the lake every year."

Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide!

So, is this an actual trip, or just a theoretical "What if..." kind of thing?

If I had truly unlimited money, I would buy myself a Death Star and go blow up Alderaan.

Maybe not for bass, but I'd spend a few days on LOTW throwing some big bucktails!

If it's unlimited money why don't you take a bass boat with you rather than the yak?

If you end up on Table Rock or Grand Lake holler at me and I will pretend that I go with you LOL. And since it's just pretend, I would go ahead and take my chances on the Mexican side of Falcon.

I just think you should put down that you will be back in Wisconsin in about 30 years. No reason to slow down, fish fish fish. Make sure you hit Santee Cooper, whether for big catfish, or big bass. Just two cool little lakes connected by a canal. But definately hit Amistad, Falcon, Lake/Pond Dixon, California Delta. Maybe Lake Biwa too in Japan.

Oh if only! lol!!!!

Loving the suggestions guys! I asked if I could bring a bass boat, my teacher said no?! No idea why, but wucha gonna do? Kory, I'll definitely hit ya up, I'll probably get John to drag me out on g-ville and catch some dinks on gville.

I said yak just cause it's easier to fish rivers that way, and I can't bring a bass boat, so yeah.. that pretty much sums it up. lol

Thanks again guys!

I would just but a while new professor, that one would let you take a bassboat. Anyway, the eccentrically rich dont have to follow rules.
