Default 49,000 yards of line

i was going through the items on ebay the other day, and i saw where a person won 49,000 yards of fishing line, give or take a yard. i was stunned as to why someone would need that much line. i put that under a category of believe it or not. i was wondering if there are not any other amusing, confusing, stunning, unbelievable, cock-eyed, notorious stories, or down right lies that have happened to anyone or at someone else's expense that seemed to be down right comical, too good to be true, or the truth too. cya

last year, in high school, one of my teachers had a 50,000 yards fishing line to hang christmas decoration by. i asked her how much it cost and she said like 3 or 4 bucks at a garage sale. i think it was 10 lb. test!!

um lets do the math. 50,000 yards, multilplied by three gets you 150,000 feet.
didvide that by 5,280 and you get about 28 miles, 28.40909091. thats alot of line to put on a spool 454

Zook,

Read somewhere I think November's BASSMASTER magazine in ask Uncle Homer he said that storing your line in the refrigerator doesn't help. The moisture actually breaks down the line.

I like Uncle Homer and all, heck even live in the same town, however this is where he's wrong, anybody with basic knowledge of air conditions, refrigerators, and freezers know they work by removing the humidity in the air.
