What is a lure that will constantly catch some big bass in a pond? Thanks

try a jig. myn is a plastic worm, because they are a lot of ways of fishing it.

A big bait-bigger bait, bigger fish. Look at the swimbaits they are chunking out in CA for those huge toads. Some are a foot long and bigger.

Swimbait is the biggest bas lure at the time. My favorite are Big hammer swimbaits made by the same makers of assalt. These things are durable and have amazing action with their tail.

I have caught all my biggest bass on either the spinnerbait or the jig with a crawdad trailer

Ryan, there is NOTHING that will CONSTANTLY catch big bass in a pond, lake or any other body of water. If there was, I'd own a few gross of them.

I have caught my two biggest bass in my life downsizing.
2.5in tube-5lb 3oz bass
1in 1/64 oz grub-5lb bass

fish on brings up an excellent point, sometimes the big ones just want a little snack, I've caught some nice ones on TINY stick baits.

I agree with Marty again

But I betting the youngsters here don't know what a "GROSS" is LOL.

The theory of big baits for big fish is a good one. However you may not catch a thing, or they will be few and far between them. There just isn't as many Hawg's in the water as we would like. That's why they are uncommon, instead of common. You just have to be at the right place at the right time, with the right lure, and right presentation.

If you can consistantly know this, then you can consistantly catch big bass. But if it was so simple, then everyone would be catching them everyday. The best answer is the more you fish, the more likely you are to catch a Hawg. It's more of a numbers game.

The lure that has never failed me is the Jointed rapala minnow. I chose the silver and black color. It is the smaller sized floating one. The jointed shad might work too but i havent tried it yet

i think lizard hit the nail on the head, i say that from experience. i have just started bass fishing in earnest in the last two months. i have encountered a large, large bass, and it got away, but i learned alot from the incident. patience and confidence is what nearly everyone says, and i believe that to be the bottom line, my 2 cents worth.

For larger bass I like 1/2 oz. jigs. If you like quality over quantity start jig fishing.
