Default Spring Cleaning

I thought I'd get everyone's opinion on the best way to clean all the grime out of my bilge area. Thankfully I don't have any carpet to worry about. I want it looking and smelling as clean as possible before my first season starts with her this spring. Thanks!

Simple green and hot water.. fill area and let sit for while. drain and wash out.

Or you could do bone headed stunt like I did one morning.

Charter was due to arrive at 8am and it is 7am and I am at the ramp. A guy walks up to my window and wants to pick my brain on this and that about fishing. He distracted me so much I forgot the drain plug. Slid the boat in the water and parked. Got back to the ramp and he was there to ask just few more questions. I glance over and my boat looks strange. It was sinking. I excuse myself and get the trailer back in the water. Put the boat 3/4 on the trailer. Pull up the ramp to the top and water is shooting out drain hole. Charter walks over and sees the water shooting out. I simply say "Cleaning the bildge" and they nod there approval..

Good recovery

There are numerous bio-degradable soaps that would work well. Just make sure it's rinsed out well before putting her in the water (there are numerous clean water regulations and should your bilge pump be blowing bubbles and suds and authorities be around, Murphy could visit with a ticket.)

That's definitely some quick thinking! I've heard some others suggest the Simple Green and I think I'm going to try it out. Placed an order yesterday and it should arrive sometime this afternoon. Thanks for the suggestions!
