Angler lands new Oklahoma state record largemouth bass
A new Oklahoma state record largemouth bass was caught Friday, March 23, at Cedar Lake in southeast Oklahoma. The fish weighed 14 lbs. 12.3 oz. and was caught by Poteau angler Benny Williams, Jr. while on a camping trip at the 78-acre LeFlore Co. lake.
Williams caught the bass at 11 a.m. on a ¼ oz. Striker King jig. This fish measured 26 inches in length and 22 3/8 inches in girth.

Just as I predicted in Jan. new records are likely to be set all over the country!
This gentleman appears to be an honest, upstanding, legal. licensed, too legit to quit record holder.
His facial expression is a mirthful blend of humility and a smirk.

Wow, that is a huge fish! The tail on that thing is really thick. Hopefully this guy had his license at the time.

Thats a beaut! Good looking bass for sure. Most bigger bass like that don't seem to be so colorfull. And your right Tavery, the angler Benny Williams Jr looks just like the kind of guy you would be glad to see land a state record.

Looks like a little hint of red in the fins, I wonder if she was on the bed?

in alabama if oyu get the state record, i THINK oyu get a cash reward. also if oyu get the world record too. am i right or not?

I'm just glad this guy wasn't sign up for the big bass contest. hahaha But now that he has alread caught this pig, maybe we should invite him to become a member of BassFishin.com
