Default 1999 yamaha vmax impeller

I took my 99 skeeter zx185 out the other day for the first time this yr and when running wot the boat would run fine....but when i would idle threw coves my over heat alarm would go off....when idleing my pee stream is very weak and doesn't even register on the gauge and when running wot it shows about 15psi....does this sound like the impeller?....if so is this something fairly easy for me and one of my friends to change out?

That's exactly what mine did at the beginning of last year, except less water pressure and it took a new impeller to fix it.

Yes weidner you are definately on the right track. That is exactly what happens when a impellar starts to go. She gets hot when idling due to the wear and tear onthe impellars ears but pushes enough water to keep her cool when running.
