Default Monster Fish

Hey guys,
I'm new to the board but I got a call last night letting me know that a show we filmed last year will be on TV tommorrow morning. If you're into fishing shows you can see me fishing with Trev Gowdy tommorrow morning at 9 AM Eastern Time on the Outdoor Channel. I just got to see it and it turned out pretty well. Our best 5 largemouth went 51 lbs even but after all the editing you won't get to see a lot of them. Hope you guys enjoy!

Matt

Matt,

Were you the one fishing with Trev in the "Lakes Region" in Cali? If so, dang! You guys killed 'em!

Yep, that was me. I still don't know how that all happened. I bumped into them on the water and they weren't catching much. By the next morning we were filming on my lakes and having a blast!

You guys put on quite a show though. Those fish were chokin' those baits! What size were they exactly?

Buzz Wing,
The fish or the baits? The bait you saw was an 8" huddleston swimbait.

Super,

I meant the bait; that thing was insane! I thought it would've been hard to get out the hooks, but the single hook looks easy, yes?

Yeah, they're really easy to get out. A lot of people use stinger hooks but I refuse because of exactly what you're saying. They get in the gills and are very hard to remove. When fishing with just that jig hook it stays buried really well but a simple push backward will back it out no problem. (plus you have a lot of room to work with in those mouths! Haha!)
