Default Help

Alright so i jus moved to a new area in MS and we have rights to a 40 acre lake. It has a lot of cover mainly pads and a few stumps. I don have a topo of the lake but there are tons of depth changes and alot of the flats have steep drops. The water is fairly clear you can see pretty good to about 2-2 1/2 foot. I really like fishing spinnersbaits and crankbaits. I was jus wonderin what the the best colors would be for those conditions i really don know a whole lot about the baitfish in the pond(crappie, bluegill, and shad) I think. The temps round here are upper 60 lower 70 in the day and mid 40 at night... Any help would be really appreciated and sorry bout the long post.

cast a dark colored (dark blue or green) trick worm onto the pads and twitch it so the pad jiggles for a couple seconds, then hop it off the pad. This should work when they are shallow. If its deep, deep cranking with a dd22 can get them during the day. If its cold, fish jig near the steepest breaks in the lake slowly and hold on for a biggun. tell us how it works.

i know this isn't realative right now but in the warmer months i really like a bronze eye frog in the pads. the main thing is they will miss the bait about 30% of the time. and when they do that isn't all bad. they have just given away their location and i throw a super fluke or any weightless worm on top of them and just let it slowly sink. most of the time they will come back and they usually don't miss this one.

Let's see, Shad colors, crawfish colors(red in there too), and chartreuse colors for cranks. Chartreuse/White, Chartreuse, or White for spinnerbaits.
