Talking New used Bass boat

1985 Hydra-sport w/ 85 HP Mercury, eagle depth/fishfinder, and #50 thrust MinnKota trolling motor, Live well, bilge pump. Do ya'll think I did alright for $1500? Need to put an impeller on it. It only pees out water at a high idle, other than that, everything works on it.

I think you stole the boat at that price if it all works.

VERY clean looking boat. Looks like she was taken care of. Look under the hood and see if thats one of the Mercs with the distributor cap. If it is the one that I think it is she will run VERY well on that hull. I do beleive thats one of the lighter Kevelar hulls.

Just an update, after replacing the impeller, my mechanic found a water leak at the #1 cylinder, thought the head might be warped but it was just a gasket leaking. Dodged the bullet on that one. He's rebuilding the carbs so after everything is done, I'll still have under 2K in it. Oh well. I heard boats were just a hole in the water to throw money into. And the motor does have a distributor, FastLaser. Thanks

Well guys, I got my boat back from the repair shop yesterday. It takes a long time to get parts for an older motor. 1975 850 Merc. After replacing the impeller, gear lube, gasket for the water jacket, new plugs, 2 dry rotted hoses on the fuel system, rebuilt the carburaters, a plastic piece that links the 2 carbs that took forever to get, I finally have my boat back and it is running like a scalded dog!!! The total cost was $487. Repair guy charged $45 hr. I was very relieved as I was expecting quite a bit more. Hell, if I could just find some rolled hay for my horses, I would be set for winter.
