deep crank baits
this may be a bit of a novice question but im still learning.. so bare with me lol
how many deep crank baits do you guys carry? im talkin depths like 25'+.. seems bass fishing is done in shallower waters but i would like to go after some walleye. i guess it depends on where you fish but im looking to build up my collection so i am prepared for when i get out on water.

None in the 25 plus range. If the bass are that deep I use a different aproach than a crankbait.

The deepest divers I have are the Norman DD22's I carry a small box of about 10 of them.

I've got a few deep cranks, but nothing that goes 25+ ft. That's a rare crankbait to go that deep....if you find one, chances are it'll be huge, with a monster size lip on it. I'm no walleye fisherman, for dang sure, but that's not what I gather you would need to fish with for them.
I've heard of walleye fishermen trolling with several lines out, using a fairly shallow crankbait or minnow style jerkbait, with a sinker on the line above it to take it down deep. That way, they can use a lure with a smaller profile to appeal to the walleye, but still get deep in the water column where they live.

Drop shotting can be good, as well as a heavy jig, plastic worms, spoons, ect.

Deep cranks are money on my lake, so I carry twenty or so that run between 15-25 feet. Carolina rigs would be an alternative, but for walleyes...might want to try "Redi-rigs" for trolling. http://www.redirig.com/

If you're looking for deep running walleye cranks, check out Reef Runners.

Folks here that target walleye in the 60 to 80 foot range use downriggers. Never used one myself but that's what they say to use.
