Heres a question - what will it cost him to haul it off?

I'm only partially kidding. Yea its worth something as a gamble, but not too hell of a lot. The motor, even if it is seized, has some value for parts. I think $100 would be a good starting point. Dont throw money at the guy for a junk boat.

I would talk to your freind .If someone dropped that boat off for me to trash I think our freindship would be affected. If he just wants an offer I would bet he just does not want to pay to have it junked.I would think if you only want a motor you should just look for a motor instead of cleaning out someones trash. sorry if I sound rude. just my

If you can get it for a hundred bones or so here is a suggestion. At least this works around here. Here in Central KY there are several low or no Gas engine lakes around. If I had the chance I would buy that boat after I made sure it floated. Clean it up real good. Slap a good trolling motor on it and put the for sale sign on it. Those older boats are a hot commodity around here anyway. Then you could take the motor and do with it as you please. I have refurbished 5 boats like that over the last couple of years. First I like making a few bucks of them (I don't try to get rich just keep my habit funded) and second I enjoy working and cleaning on them. If that motor runs its just a bonus. But like I say those type boats are in fairly high demand around here because they have more room and are more stable than a jon boat.

hope this helps.

Barleypup is deadnuts on. That is one of the BETTER OMC motors of its era. If you could snatch her up for 100 and the motor does run but possibly need a carb rebuild or plugs you would DEFINATELY be better off with that motor than your present 35hp. LOTS and LOTS of parts available for that 50 and a WHOLE LOT CHEAPER as well.
