Default Best bass of the year.

Caught this 4 pounder on a 3/8oz War Eagle flipping jig w/chigger craw trailer. Those spots on my face are form the mud the bass splashed on my face when I was picking it up.

Thanks! Dang fish splashed mud on my brand new Alabama national championship hat. Better luck next year LSU. Sorry I couldn't resist talking smack. I'm already ready for college football to start again.

Yes it's in BassfeverJohn's neighborhood. It's a dirty large pond that doesn't look very bassy but there are quite a few big ones in there. Catching the big ones isn't easy though. Sometimes catching anything out of there is hard. We mainly fish around the 3 bridges that cross it since that's practically the only structure around. This bass in the picture was holding somewhat near an underwater PVC pipe near the bridge. I think that's the first bass I've ever caught "sight fishing". I almost always set the hook too soon when I see the strike.

Healthy looking fish. I always find those nice strong four pounders are the best for eating.

Nice looking fish man. I'm looking at your photo, and also looking at the snow falling to beat all outside. Wish I were down there instead! haha

I hadn't really even thought about it. I rarely catch anything over 4lbs.
