Exclamation Need Advice with Downscan Sonar side Imagine

I am heading up to bass pro shop in harrisburg in 2 weeks have a hockey tournament up there. I really want to come home with a new Electronic setup but i just cant decide between the Lowrance 7 8 or 10 HDS with side imagine I have heard some people say the HDS 5 is to small?
< anyone have an opinion> I also have heard that lowrance is coming out with new models in 2011. Or should i go with one of the hummingbird models. I hear that the hummingbird only needs one transducer. While the lowrance needs too. Does anyone know if ethier of this units have a quick release so i dont have to leave it on the boat. Also what other add on should i be looking for. What is better the Nav maps or the Lake insight I fish mostly smaller bodys of water in central NJ. Is there anyway to find out if the lakes i fish are in that program? I dont really want to spend more the 2500. The more i think about it makes me unsure all together do you really think these units help you catch more fish or should i just spend the money else where. Someone please convince me to hit that register. Me an my fishin buddy were talking about it the other night hit a stalemate. Thanks for the advice in advance

For the HB models yes they have a quick release and can use at least one transducer. I can't speak for Lowrance cause I never own one.
