6 Casts.....6 Bass
Snuck over to my local pond after work to get the lines wet for a bit. I went to my favorite corner, tied on a 3/0 Gammy Hook like I always do and decided to throw my Watermelon Magic Zoom Finesse worm wacky rigged. Made my first cast along the bank in about a foot of water and my worm never even hit bottom, the fish set itself and took off for the deep. After a nice battle pull her in and she is a solid 4.3lbs on my Berkley scale. Score.....1st cast 1st fish, which usually ends up in a First Cast Curse for me but not this day. I release the fish and simply pull my worm back down the line and reposition it a bit further along in the plastic as a nice chunk was torn out of my bait. Cast it along the other side of the shoreline and again, the lure never even hit bottom, it just felt off so I set the hook and BAM another fish. Smaller at 1.6lbs but still awesome. 4 more casts at varying angles from the shoreline results in another 4 fish including a good 3lber making it 6 casts and 6 fish!!!! By the 3rd fish I had gathered a small crowd of kids and 2 adults and they couldn't believe what was going on. On the 7th cast when I didn't land a fish the kids were more bummed out than I was Fished for another hour and got another 5 fish but nothing as fast and furious as the first 15 minutes of my fishing day. You can't beat days like this.
1st fish of the day on the first cast!!!! 3rd fish of the day.....on the 3rd cast!!!! |

Congrats, man, that is SWEEEEEEEEEEEET! My all-time best is a bass on 4 consecutive casts followed by losing everything to a pike on the 5th cast.

That is awesome. My best was three for three. Six for six is absolutely incredible. Hats off!

Congrats on going 6 for 6 pal! Thats a great time in anyones books. Had a good laugh at your "First Cast Curse"! haha I can't tell ya how many times I've got to the lake early in the morning, hooked into a nice one on the first cast and thought, boy, todays the day, only to struggle to even get a single hit after that first fish. Now if I get a good strike on the first cast I feel like I should pack it up and head home. hahaha

Sounds like you have a great spot to fish. Catching six in a row is great but doing it in front of a crowd....priceless! I hope it encouraged the kids to do a little fishing.

I usually throw a few cheapie Wal-Mart rods I got when I first started fishing in the back of the truck in case a kid shows interest. My buddies and I actually gave a few rods out to some of the regular kids who had hung around us long enough and were respectful enough of our rods when we let them use them. To be honest, the neighborhood is a mixed bag of nice developments and a few Govt. Assistance apartments so if getting the kids involved in fishing instead of going out and doing stupid stuff helps out than what is a $20 rod/reel combo in the grand scheme of life to me? One of the kids can just throw out a bare hook and catch bluegill and some smaller bass seemingly at will so it makes me feel kind of ridiculous standing there with 3 rods and my fishing bag filled with stuff sometimes lol.
