Default Okuma Spinning reels?

I'm thinking about replacing my Daiwa exceller cause it's smoothness lacking. I like to the spool on it though, casts well.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone uses Okuma spinning reels, I've head they're good.

Anyone have experienced with 'em? Particularly the Trio. I'm wondering how it and other Okumas hold up over a few seasons of use.

This will be my 8th season with the one Okuma spinning reel I own. It is the Inspira. Really well built IMHO.

Sammy a good cleaning and some lubrication should help a lot with the feel of it. I'd give that a try before just going out and replacing it.

The Okuma V-series reels are on the upper end of Okuma's freshwater reels, but they are said to be as good or better than most of the upper end spinning reels on the market. There is a good review of them on TT and they recieved an award from TT also.

Thanks for the responses guys. That Inspira sounds like a solid reel Cam. Still running smooth I gather?

Yeah, I plan on it biggins. Just gathering all my options. I'd like to be able to go the BPS classic down in Chicago and trade it in for credit.

This weekend at Gander they are having a sale. They have a scratch off coupon in store. I got 10% off yesterday. I have 2 Okumas. One Stratus and a Metaloid. Both are good reels.

Ohh.. now that's a deal! Wow, that really really tempting. Is it the older ones or the new ones they've got for sale? Never heard of the scratch off thing before, I'll have to check them out.

I have an Okuma spooled with 30lb Power Pro my son uses for Catfishing. Seems like a quality real. But if you want smoothness and quality, I say go with Pflueger. You don’t have to spend a ton. The Asaro is a very smooth real for around $50.00.
