Fishing This Sunday
This coming Sunday my girlfriend and I are planning on doing a little fishing on the Snake. Hopefully the smallmouth will be hungry. I have not done much fishing in the area we are headed so we will see how it goes. The section we will be fishing has mostly rock banks, the kind dumped to build roads along the water. So we will be targeting any areas with "different" structure like overhanging trees/brush or any coves/points. Mostly be dragging tubes, small jigs, and crankbaits. The weather has been nice the past few days, about 60-70 yesterday and today was warmer and they are forecasting mid 70's throughout the weekend so hopefully the fishing will be good. If anyone has any other advice for fishing this situation for smallmouth it would be very helpful.
Thanks CJ |

The weather ended up clearing up and being very nice. So we went out fishing....But unfortunately the girl friend was the only one to get a smallmouth. It was pretty small, but she does a good job of rubbing it in that she got the only bass. She got that one on a curly tail worm in a translucent watermelon color. I did not come up empty handed though, I got a very small steelhead. I got the steelhead on a lipless crankbait in a crawfish color. The crank was almost as big as the fish. The steelhead has fully hooked in the mouth so it was trying to eat the crawdad. Ill be sure to post some pictures once I get home from work.
