I hate to rub it in but..
while most of ya were hard at work.i took the stroker out fer a ride..the wind was a bit of a factor. however i was getting a good control drift over an excellant hydrilla weed line.. catching 2 small bass and 2 decent crappie. i was using a spinnerbait and trolling a bandit 100..
i did not think the fish were worth a picture.. zooker

I'm totally jealous, Zook. There are a number of quiet little lakes around me that are just inaccessible to a bass boat. I like the way you rigged up the depth finder in plain view (and just out of accidental kick range).

I will anchor below shoals in a small river I frequent. I agree with the jon boat not being as stable. As you might guess I have a couple of tarpon 120's and 100's. My wife and two sons are avid fishermen. All four will fit in the back of my truck. Just haven't figured out to haul camper, kayaks and bass boat all at the same time. Maybe wife needs a truck. Oh by the way my jon boats go unused nowadays.

While you were being blown along I was running and gunning and watching 2-6 lb bass pass up my senko's and bkd's. They ignored my sweet beavers, lizards, and RC's as well. The little guys, .75 - 1.25 lb, did enjoy the senko every once in a while. Stumps and docks were the preferred types of cover today.

Hey Zooker,
Here's something for you to ponder. Just maybe, you could donate some of your fishing "know-how" and some of your time on the water, to be a "Big-Brother" to a young prospective angler. I know how you have always had the desire to be teacher of what you do best. Well, it's something to think about when you have the time. -Mark |

Dats lower than my allison, but I have sides at least to keep the cottonmouths from trying to rest on it.
On the other hand theirs a utube video of a Texas guide that killed a rattler attempting that and used it to catch a very large bass. Ever wonder why they hit 12 and 14 in worms. Tis a nice setup for a yak. |
