Default Suspending lipless cranks

what are some good brands or kinds, i was tieing all of mine on and the straight sinks, thinking of getting some for the shore. so if i am fishing shallow my bait doesnt become a weed catcher.

I'm not aware of anyone that makes a suspending lipless any longer. Bill Lewis Rattletrap used to make a suspending trap, may be able to find some on the secondary market or ebay. I had some years ago, they were a totally different color pattern than the originals, and I didn't really like them. Bill Lewis is the only one I know of that makes a floating trap (in a few regular colors). That's one possibility. The other is to use a normal lure, with a longer rod, hold the tip high and burn that puppy across the top of the grass. I can get some unpainted blanks that are advertised as suspending...nice baits! They don't come painted, you'd have to paint them yourself or there are a ton of custom bait painters that I'm sure would paint them for you. If you need any help, let me know.

I believe Cotton Cordell still make a suspending lipless crank.

Here's the link.http://www.cottoncordelllures.com/details.aspx?id=8929

Ive got one of the cotton cordell suspenders, they are not like a jerkbait suspender, they only run so deep, just the opposite of a floater that suspends,so some floation built in ,like the floater lipless, just less of it.The opposite of weight added. Its buoyancy added to a sinker.
I use the floaters a lot and it some, for shallow water the suspender a tad deeper but 8 ft or less.I find the floater a tad more usefull, when going away from the standard sinker.

I like the suspending traps for dirtier water than what I'd like to fish a regular jerkbait in. They're great above grass also to help call fish out of the weeds.
